West Branch is 9-0 against the Falcons since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The West Branch Warriors will be playing at home against the Austintown-Fitch Falcons at 1:15 p.m. West Branch will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Last Wednesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, West Branch beat the Quakers 40-34. Given West Branch's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Quakers are ranked 279th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Austintown-Fitch ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They snuck past Howland with a 54-50 win. The victory was some much needed relief for Austintown-Fitch as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
West Branch pushed their record up to 16-2 with that victory, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Austintown-Fitch, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-6.
West Branch was able to grind out a solid win over the Falcons in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 62-54. Will West Branch repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
