Carbon is a perfect 5-0 against South Summit since December of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Carbon Dinos will head out to square off against the South Summit Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Carbon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Ben Lomond 76-13. The Dinos' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Carbon found their leader in freshman Elsie Morley, who posted ten points and eight steals. Morley has become a key player for Carbon: the team is undefeated when she posts at least three steals, but 4-17 otherwise. Bailey Curtis was another key player, putting up 13 points.
Carbon was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when South Summit faced off against Union last Thursday. South Summit walked away with a 48-38 victory over Union. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.
Carbon better keep an eye on Emma Broadbent. She was instrumental in South Summit's win, dropping a double-double with 16 points and 24 boards. Broadbent has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more rebounds the last 47 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariah Bowen, who put up 16 points and four steals.
South Summit pushed their record up to 16-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points over those games. As for Carbon, their victory bumped their record up to 7-17.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Carbon has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 28.4 boards per game. However, it's not like South Summit struggles in that department as they've been averaging 37.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Carbon against South Summit in their previous meeting back in December of 2020, as the squad secured a 59-31 win. In that game, Carbon amassed a halftime lead of 36-15, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
