The Frankfort Redbirds will head out on the road to challenge the Anna-Jonesboro Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Annabelle Hopkins spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jenna Deason, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Presley Sollers was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Frankfort was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in eight consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Anna-Jonesboro made sure to put some runs up on the board against DuQuoin on Monday. The Wildcats blew past the Indians 17-1. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Ruby Yates made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up a single walk in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Kansas Craig was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Jayci Needling, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Frankfort's record now sits at 11-2. As for Anna-Jonesboro, their record is now 15-2.
Frankfort might still be hurting after the 6-0 defeat they got from Anna-Jonesboro when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Redbirds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
