Hug hasn't had much luck against Reno recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Hawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Huskies at 3:45 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Wednesday.
Hug barely beat Portola the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hawks never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Tuesday. That looming 10-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Hawks yet this season.

Silas Stephens made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Hug let Aarian Ruiz and Alexander Alvarez run wild. Ruiz went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run, while Alvarez went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that Ruiz has hit this season. Daniel Allen was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Hug always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Reno waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Panthers as they made off with a 15-0 victory. Considering the Huskies have won three games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
The win got Hug back to even at 3-3. As for Reno, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Hug might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from Reno in their previous matchup back in April of 2018. Will the Hawks have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
