The Denair Coyotes will head out on the road to  challenge  the Gustine Reds  at 7:15  p.m.  on Friday. One thing working in Denair's favor is that they have posted at least 31  points  in their last three games.
Last Friday, Denair didn't have too much trouble with Stone Ridge Christian  as they won  36-21.
Meanwhile, Gustine was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap  on Friday as they fell  22-16 to Mariposa County. The Reds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Despite the  loss, Gustine saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  Avery Etheridge rushed for 117 yards. Etheridge didn't just play on offense: he also picked up  a  sack and made eight total tackles.
 Denair pushed their record up to 4-1 with the  victory, which was their fourth straight  at home dating back to last season. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.5 points on average over those games. As for Gustine, they now  have a losing record of 2-3.
 Denair was able to grind out a solid  victory over Gustine in their previous matchup  back in September of 2024, winning  24-13. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Coyotes since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
