Basketball Game Preview: Foundation Academy Lions vs. Master's Academy Eagles

Having just played yesterday, the Foundation Academy Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Master's Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Foundation Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matches -- so hopefully Master's Academy likes a good challenge.

On Thursday, Foundation Academy lost to Central Florida Christian Academy at home by a 78-60 margin. The Lions have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Alex Nichols, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 18 points. His evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Michels, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 19 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Master's Academy strolled past Trinity Prep with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 73-56. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Saints are ranked 562nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Master's Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Foundation Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

Foundation Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Master's Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, sneaking past 71-69. The rematch might be a little tougher for Foundation Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
