Make it 11 blowout wins for the Covenant Christian Cougars this season. They claimed a resounding 64-14 victory over O'Connell at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-5.
It was another big night for Keeley Chaddick, who scored 23 points along with five steals. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alani Owens, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Covenant Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 16-12 record this season. As for O'Connell, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.
Covenant Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Paladins at 10:00 a.m. on February 3rd. Providence Classical comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 16 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for O'Connell, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rams at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
