After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Park Rapids, Nevis was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Laporte Wildcats a 10-0 shutout. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by ten runs or more this season.
Eli Lindow made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Lindow was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Nevis is undefeated when Lindow posts two or more runs, but 3-6 otherwise.
In other batting news, Nevis got a big performance out of Marshall Kalm, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Devan Lindow, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Nevis' victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Laporte, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
