The Wilson Area Warriors will challenge the Bangor Slaters at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Wilson Area is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Moravian Academy with a sharp 15-5 win on Saturday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Ryan Bonham was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Wilson Area: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 0-3 otherwise. Bonham was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-5.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Liam Coyle, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with five RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nolan Browne, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bangor, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Everything went their way against Notre Dame-Green Pond on Saturday as Bangor made off with a 12-6 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Gino Merlo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits.
On the hitting side, Kurt Snyder and Dylan Keith did most of the damage at the plate: Snyder got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Keith went 2-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Keith has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Koza, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Bangor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Notre Dame-Green Pond only posted an OBP of .364.
Wilson Area's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Bangor, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Wilson Area has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bangor struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Wilson Area's way against Bangor in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Wilson Area made off with an 8-1 victory. Does Wilson Area have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bangor turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
