Having just played yesterday, the Davenport Broncos will get right back to it and host the Poinciana Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on December 12th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Davenport has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 32 points or more this season. They took their match at home on Monday with ease, bagging a 59-11 victory over Lake Buena Vista. With that win, Davenport brought their scoring average up to 51.8 points per game.
Sorayah Emilien was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Emilien has scored at least 25% of Davenport's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Kim, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Poinciana scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Mater Brighton Lakes Academy 58-20 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Poinciana has managed all season.
Davenport pushed their record up to 3-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Poinciana, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Davenport was able to grind out a solid win over Poinciana when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 53-43. Will Davenport repeat their success, or does Poinciana have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
