The Douglas Tigers can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Galena by a score of 71-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Douglas had a senior duo take command as Kyle Koontz dropped a double-double on 12 points and 20 rebounds and Jett Lehmann almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. Lehmann hasn't dropped below 15 points for five straight games. Caden Thacker was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five assists.
Douglas' win bumped their record up to 7-16. As for Galena, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-12.
Douglas will head out on the road to square off against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Spanish Springs will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive. Galena will take on the Senators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Carson has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29.
