The Northeastern Jets will face off against the Greeneview Rams at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The last three games Northeastern has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Northeastern fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against West Liberty-Salem on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 10-9.

Kylee Williams spent all 7.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and eight unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Sophia Shingler was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and two doubles. Ashlynn Bowser was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Meanwhile, Greeneview entered their tilt with Mechanicsburg on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Indians.
Gabbie Burkett made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Burkett was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs.
Burkett wasn't the only one making solid contact as eight players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Bella Sutton, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Greeneview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive games.
Greeneview's victory bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Northeastern, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-11.
Greeneview's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Northeastern has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Greeneview, though, as they've been averaging 8.9 hits. Given Northeastern's sizable advantage in that area, the Rams will need to find a way to close that gap.
Northeastern suffered a grim 12-5 defeat to Greeneview when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Will the Jets have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
