The biggest upset of the week belonged to Maryland School for the Deaf, who defeated 27th ranked Maryland School for the Deaf, 42-0.
Avalon scaled the state rankings by moving to 15 from 148 this week, the biggest jump in Capital Area. The Black Knights were able to make move up by beating the Orioles 42-0.
Devin Steele was the best receiver in the league this week as Riverdale Baptist beat Options Charter.
Justin Baynes was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 135 yards on 12 carries as the Crusaders defeated the Panthers. Teammate Steele added to the ground attack by rushing for 66 yards.
Baynes was a passing and rushing force as Riverdale Baptist bested Options Charter.
A big matchup in Capital Area this week will be when Maryland School for the Deaf takes on Derek Deane's team. Joshua Doudt's team is currently in fourth, while the Panthers are in seventh.
Avalon was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after defeating the Orioles. Tad Shields' team came in at 15 in the state poll after placing at number 148 last week.
