If The Port Allen Pelicans were feeling good off their 35-6 takedown of the Collegiate last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Port Allen took a serious blow against Parkview Baptist on Friday, falling 49-12. Port Allen has struggled against Parkview Baptist recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Parkview Baptist to victory, but perhaps none more so than Abram Johnston, who threw for 164 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Kayden Tureaud was in the mix as well, providing Parkview Baptist with two touchdowns.
Port Allen's loss dropped their record down to 4-4-1. As for Parkview Baptist, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Port Allen will be playing in front of their home fans against Mentorship Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mentorship Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Parkview Baptist, they will head out on the road to face off against University Lab at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. University Lab is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
