On Tuesday Jacob Batcha tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The effort also marked the fewest walks (one) Batcha has had since back in February. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his fourth in a row with less than two walks. For the year, he has an ERA of 2.25 over 9.3 innings pitched.

Even though Batcha couldn't lead Poly over Paloma Valley, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 144 places lower in California), but they're not letting that get them down.
