Our Lady of the Lakes had lost four straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 2-12 to make it five. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Shrine Catholic Knights. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

As for Shrine Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

For Shrine Catholic's part, Sean Murphy made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. That's the most strikeouts Murphy has posted since back in April. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jackson Poulton, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Blake Archibald was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Our Lady of the Lakes has already played their next matchup, a 13-2 victory against Washtenaw Christian Academy on the 12th. As for Shrine Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-4 win against Mott on the 12th.
