After a string of 11 wins, the Kongiganak Wolverines's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. Their rough 51-31 defeat to Ket'acik and Aapalluk Memorial might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Kongiganak has scored all season.
Kongiganak lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Anisha Tinker, who scored eight points. Maegan Charlie was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Kongiganak's defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-2. As for Ket'acik and Aapalluk Memorial, they pushed their record up to 10-5 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
Kongiganak didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-53 win vs. Kwigillingok on the 9th. Ket'acik and Aapalluk Memorial has also already played their next game, a 65-27 win against Eek on the 9th.
