The Howland Tigers will take on the Hubbard Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Howland will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Howland came out on top against LaBrae on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Tigers put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 8-1 victory. Considering the Tigers have won six games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Makenna Perry made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Schmitz, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times she's played.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hubbard, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They never let Poland Seminary get on the board and left with a 5-0 win on Tuesday.
Like Howland, Hubbard also got a great game from a two-way player: Haleigh Taylor. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Taylor was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Layla Songer was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Hubbard's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Howland, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.
Howland's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's matchup. The Tigers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Hubbard, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Howland continue to outrun the ball?
