The La Porte Bulldogs can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 76-65 win over Angleton. Given La Porte's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 304th, while Angleton is ranked 609th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Phillip Ned was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Trent Callies was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven steals.
When it comes to explaining why Angleton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ka'dyine Jones. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Braydon Campbell, who scored 15 points.
La Porte's win bumped their record up to 17-11. As for Angleton, they bumped their record down to 11-16 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
La Porte will square off against Friendswood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Friendswood is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for Angleton, they will be playing at home against Ball at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
