The Mullins Auctioneers will be playing at home against the Kingstree Blazers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 13 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Mullins and three for Kingstree.
Last Friday, Mullins lost to Green Sea Floyds at home by a decisive 37-22 margin.
Despite the loss, Mullins saw an underclassman step up: Kanazzion Bethea threw for 185 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Kingstree was the victim of a tough 35-14 loss at the hands of Andrews on Friday.
Mullins' defeat was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-3 Andrews and 8-3 Marion (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 56.2% over those games). Kingstree has traveled a rocky road this season, as they've lost six of their first eight games, which leaves them at a 2-6 record this season.
Mullins was taken down by Kingstree 62-0 in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Mullins, Nicolas Brown (who rushed for 114 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 56 receiving yards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
