The Yutan Chieftains will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Ord Chanticleers at 6:00 p.m. on November 10th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Yutan walked away with it. They put the hurt on Oakland-Craig with a sharp 28-6 victory on Friday. The score was close at the half, but Yutan pulled away in the second half with 21 points.
Derek Wacker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 88 yards and two touchdowns. Yutan also got a significant boost from Jesse Kult, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 98 yards.
Meanwhile, Ord had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.9 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 47-21 margin over Mitchell.
Ord's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Dylan Hurlburt, who threw for 191 yards and two touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes, and Trent Mccain, who gained 245 total yards and four touchdowns. Mccain's longest reception was for an incredible 87 yards.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 9-2.
