The Escondido Charter White Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Foothills Christian Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Wednesday, Escondido Charter had to suffer through a rough 84-39 loss at the hands of La Jolla Country Day. While losing is never fun, Escondido Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 682nd, while La Jolla Country Day is ranked 59th).
Despite the loss, Escondido Charter had strong showings from Ashton Pincock, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds, and Joe Scates, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Foothills Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 66-42 defeat at the hands of Maranatha Christian. Foothills Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-13.
Escondido Charter has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-15 record this season. As for Foothills Christian, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-19.
Escondido Charter strolled past Foothills Christian in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 75-60. The rematch might be a little tougher for Escondido Charter since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
