The Pelion Panthers lost against the Gilbert Indians last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Pelion took a serious blow against Gilbert, falling 50-15. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Pelion has scored all season.
It was another big night for Ahleira Leaphart, who scored 19 points along with nine steals for Gilbert. Leaphart has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Campbell, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and four steals.
Pelion now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Gilbert, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pelion won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Swansea at 6:15 p.m. on December 12th. Gilbert won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Greenwood at 6:15 p.m. on December 12th. Greenwood is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
