The Arete Prep CHARGERS's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against San Carlos, falling 69-32. Arete Prep has not had much luck with the Braves recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Arete Prep's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Sophia De La Rosa, who scored five points along with six rebounds and three steals, and Leilani Aragon who scored 11 points.
San Carlos was led to victory by CAYLEE LONGSTREET and ELLYSIA CUTTER. LONGSTREET scored 18 points along with two steals, while CUTTER scored 22 points along with five rebounds and three steals. LONGSTREET has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. JENESSA VICTOR was another key contributor, scoring two points along with six assists and five steals.
Arete Prep has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season. As for San Carlos, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 22-3.
