The Northside Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 62-34 defeat at the hands of Shaw. While losing is never fun, Northside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 420th, while Shaw is ranked 174th).
Despite the loss, Northside still got an impressive performance from Barrington Adams, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Nathan Saylor, who scored eight points.
Dorian Head continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Shaw, scoring 16 points. The match was Head's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Adkins , who scored ten points.
Northside bumped their record down to 1-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Shaw, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northside will square off against Columbus at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Columbus is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games. As for Shaw, they will head out on the road to face off against Carver at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Carver is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
