Basketball Recap: Cascade Skates Past Edinburgh with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tri-West Hendricks, Cascade was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They really took it to the Edinburgh Lancers for the full four quarters, racking up a 62-28 win. That 34 point margin sets a new team best for the Cadets this season.

Cascade was led to victory by Taylor Gibbs and Macey Pugh. Gibbs shot 69% from the field en route to 22 points and six steals, while Pugh dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds. What's more, Gibbs also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Magnolia Hall was another key player, putting up ten points and six boards.

Cascade smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Cascade's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Edinburgh, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Cascade will head out to take on Lebanon at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Edinburgh, they will venture away from home to square off against Jac-Cen-Del at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
