The Dallas Jesuit Rangers will square off against the Bowie Volunteers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Dallas Jesuit is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
Dallas Jesuit put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 42-21 margin over Richardson. Given Dallas Jesuit's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 169th, while Richardson is ranked 450th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Charlie Peters, who threw for 233 yards and four touchdowns. Peters was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 63 yards. Quentin Williams also helped out with an impressive 85 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Bowie unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 30-29 to Martin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bowie in their matchups with Martin: they've now lost seven in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tavares Duckett, who rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Keidric Osunde-brown, who picked up 71 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
With Dallas Jesuit's win and Bowie's loss, both teams now sport identical 7-3 records.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Dallas Jesuit has been excellent in the air this season, having averaged 291.7 passing yards per game. It's a different story for Bowie, though, as they've been averaging only 154.4 per game. How will Bowie fare against such a dominant passing game? Everything came up roses for Dallas Jesuit against Bowie in their previous matchup back in August of 2015 as the team secured a 35-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dallas Jesuit since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
