The Medicine Valley Raiders will face off against the Wauneta-Palisade Broncos at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Medicine Valley is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
Last Friday, Medicine Valley was able to grind out a solid win over Brady, taking the game 42-31.
Medicine Valley had a senior duo take command as Sienna Houghtelling scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and seven blocks and Stella Heapy scored 14 points along with four steals. Heapy has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Remmi Stout, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Wauneta-Palisade had to suffer through a rough 70-33 loss at the hands of Maywood/Hayes Center. While losing is never fun, Wauneta-Palisade can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 196th, while Maywood/Hayes Center is ranked 45th).
Medicine Valley's win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Wauneta-Palisade, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
Medicine Valley barely slipped by Wauneta-Palisade when the teams last played last Thursday, winning 51-50. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Wauneta-Palisade's Peyton Cox, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds.
