The Berthoud Spartans put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Steamboat Springs 59-0 at home. The result was nothing new for Berthoud, who have now won eight contests by 26 points or more so far this season.
Alex Larson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 147 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries. Larson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 65 yards.
Berthoud's win was their ninth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-0. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36.11 points. As for Steamboat Springs, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Berthoud does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Steamboat Springs is also done with their season.
