The Carl Junction Bulldogs suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Nixa on the road and fell 86-46. Carl Junction has struggled against Nixa recently, as their match on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Carl Junction lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jett Hocut. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hocut has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt McAfee, who scored five points.
Carl Junction's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Nixa, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carl Junction will take on Monett at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Monett will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 421st, while Carl Junction is ranked 155th). Nixa will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Neosho at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th.
