Somerville had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Peabody Veterans Memorial Tanners by a score of 6-3. While the Highlanders didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Somerville's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Peabody Veterans Memorial, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-6.

Coming up, Somerville will head out to square off against Lynn Classical at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Highlanders' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Peabody Veterans Memorial, they will face off against Masconomet Regional at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
