Lampeter-Strasburg is 8-2 against Cocalico since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Lampeter-Strasburg Pioneers will be staying on the road to face off against the Cocalico Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Lampeter-Strasburg knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Cocalico likes a good challenge.
Lampeter-Strasburg posted their biggest win yet this season on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 62-38 margin over Chambersburg. The win was all the more spectacular given Lampeter-Strasburg's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while Chambersburg is ranked 37th).
Lampeter-Strasburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chase Smucker led the charge by scoring 19 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Dean Herr, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Cocalico scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took down Donegal 67-53.
Lampeter-Strasburg is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Cocalico, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Lampeter-Strasburg was able to grind out a solid win over Cocalico in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 51-40. Will Lampeter-Strasburg repeat their success, or does Cocalico have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
