Northwest is ranked highly in their home state and on Thursday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Millard South. The Northwest Wolves put the hurt on the Millard South Patriots with a sharp 66-42 victory. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season.

Despite the defeat, Millard South had strong showings from Macey Kuchta, who posted ten points, and Abbi Durow, who scored 11 points. Kuchta is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Haley Kress also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Northwest is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Millard South, they dropped their record down to 10-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest will venture away from home to take on Ankeny at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Millard South, they are taking a road trip to face off against Elkhorn South at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
