Elyria Christian waltzed into their match  on Friday with nine straight wins  but they left with ten. They blew past Herington, posting a  62-31 win at home. Elyria Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven  games by 24  points or more this season.
 Despite the  loss, Herington had strong showings from  Mason Mortensen, who  scored 14 points along with five  rebounds, and  Tyus Becker, who  dropped  a double-double on 12 points and 12  rebounds. That was a full 45.2% of Herington's points, marking the third time in a row he's  earned more than a third of the team's points.
 Elyria Christian's victory was  their fifth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 10-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.2 points per game. As for Herington, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, as they've  lost three of their last four contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
 Elyria Christian will have some time to savor their  victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Herington at 7:30  p.m.  on February 2nd. As for Herington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Solomon at 7:30  p.m.  on Monday.
