The Chapin Eagles will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Cheraw Braves on Thursday. Chapin will be strutting in after a win while Cheraw will be coming in after a defeat.
Chapin scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 80-30 victory over Newberry on the road. The win was just what Chapin needed coming off of a 45-17 defeat in their prior game.
Chapin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reagan Haggard, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Haggard hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. Kiley Freeman was another key contributor, scoring 21 points.
Meanwhile, Cheraw took a serious blow against Darlington on Wednesday, falling 74-28. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cheraw has scored all season.
Chapin is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Cheraw, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4.
