The Timberlake Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 51-50 to Priest River. Timberlake was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Priest River apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Timberlake's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Engelson, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Yetter, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Timberlake has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Priest River, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Timberlake will challenge Bonners Ferry at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bonners Ferry knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 matchups -- so hopefully Timberlake likes a good challenge. As for Priest River, they will head out on the road to square off against Newport at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
