Spring Valley hasn't had much luck against Point Pleasant recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Timberwolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Big Blacks at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Spring Valley's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against Hurricane by a score of 4-0. The game was the first time the Timberwolves have beaten the Redskins on their field since March 30, 2023.
The result came thanks to Brooklyn Ellis's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Spring Valley's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Payton Dishman, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Addison Walls also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Point Pleasant entered their tilt with Greenbrier Christian Academy on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Gators. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Big Blacks have posted since April 22, 2025.
Rylan MacKnight spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Chloe Patrick was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two stolen bases. Bralee Roush was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.
Point Pleasant's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Spring Valley, their win bumped their record up to 7-14.
