Having just played yesterday, the Loretto Mustangs will jump right back in to play the Belmont Cardinals at 2:30  p.m.  on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
 Loretto came tearing into  Thursday's  match with ten straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by Marion County on the road  to the tune of  66-37. With Loretto ahead  42-15 at the half, the  contest was all but over already.
  Ally Weathers was  her usual excellent self,  scoring 16 points. The  matchup was  her 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jenny Clifton, who  scored nine points.
 Meanwhile, Belmont humbled  Shannon with a  60-27 victory. Belmont's  victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
 Loretto's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Belmont, their win bumped their record up to 13-0.
 Loretto was able to grind out a solid  win over Belmont in their previous matchup  back in December of 2020, winning  59-46. Does  Loretto have another victory up their sleeve, or will Belmont turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
