Softball Recap: Marsing Find Success

Marsing proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 20) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-9 victory over the Fruitland Grizzlies. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Brooklyn Roadenbaugh made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Roadenbaugh was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, Bailey Daugherty was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Dany Daugherty, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and one triple.

Marsing kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Marsing's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Fruitland, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Marsing didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Nyssa on the 16th. As for Fruitland, they have also already played their next game, a 10-6 win against Melba on the 17th.
