The Wellsville-Middletown Tigers's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Liberty Christian Academy Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on December 19th. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around on Tuesday.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 74-37, which was the final score in Wellsville-Middletown's tilt against Clopton on December 2nd.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Liberty Christian Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were beaten by Christian Fellowship 77-16. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Liberty Christian Academy has scored all season.
Liberty Christian Academy's loss came about despite a quality game from Lauren Moss, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. Moss scored a full 93.8% of Liberty Christian Academy's points, the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Even though they lost, Liberty Christian Academy were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Christian Fellowship only pulled down 20 offensive rebounds.
Wellsville-Middletown's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Liberty Christian Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2.
Wellsville-Middletown was able to grind out a solid win over Liberty Christian Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 55-47.
