Basketball Recap: Jacquez Jones Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Chowchilla

Dos Palos hadn't done well against Chowchilla recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Dos Palos Broncos came out on top against the Chowchilla Tribe by a score of 54-41. This was a revenge game for the Broncos: when they faced off against the Tribe back in December of 2024, they had to take a 55-42 loss.

Dos Palos got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jacquez Jones out in front who posted 30 points. Jones' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Tevin Clay was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Several Tribe players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Daniel Ojeda, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 11 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Beardsley, who put up 11 points and eight rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Dos Palos and bumps their season record up to 6-9. As for Chowchilla, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.

Dos Palos wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 0-0 victory against Gustine on the 6th. As for Chowchilla, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-65 defeat against Mendota on the 7th.
