In what's become a running theme this season, Franklin County Tech gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They blew past Mohawk Trail Regional 60-22 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Franklin County Tech has managed all season.
It was another big night for Lea Chapman, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Franklin County Tech's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyra Goodell, who scored 11 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 59 points the game before, Athol were a bit more limited in their contest back in December of 2023. They had to suffer through a rough 49-20 loss at the hands of Franklin County Tech. Athol was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-8.
Despite their loss, Athol saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Anna Duquette, who scored three points along with six rebounds and three blocks, was perhaps the best of all. Duquette is absolutely dominating the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jenna Bonenfant, who scored four points along with two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Athol struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Franklin County Tech posted 11 assists.
Franklin County Tech pushed their record up to 10-2 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24.6 points. As for Athol, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Everything came up roses for Franklin County Tech against Athol in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 49-20 victory. With Franklin County Tech ahead 32-8 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
