It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cornerstone Prep Academy can now relate to. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 67-65. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (64), Cornerstone Prep Academy still had to take the loss.
Several Cornerstone Prep Academy players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ben Cobb, who scored 23 points. Cobb hasn't dropped below 16 points for 16 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Simeon Greene, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Cornerstone Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for The King's Academy, their win bumped their record up to 13-10.
Cornerstone Prep Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. The King's Academy is on the road again on Friday and plays Cherokee Christian at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Cherokee Christian will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something The King's Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
