The Indian River Braves will take on the Manor Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Indian River is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
Indian River will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs two weeks ago, then bounced right back against Phoebus on Monday. The Braves blew past the Phantoms 18-1. The Braves not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 17, 2025 (when they won 31-9).
Jocelyn Murphy tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2025.
At the plate, Indian River got a massive performance out of Tiasia Green, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Green a new career-high. Serenity Hayden was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Granby hit Manor with a 12-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mustangs lost 16-1 to the Comets. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Indian River picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Manor, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Indian River has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Manor struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Indian River might still be hurting after the 22-2 defeat they got from Manor in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Can the Braves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
