The Tate Aggies will head out on the road to take on the Northview Chiefs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tate is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
Tate managed to slip by Fort Walton Beach the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Aggies came up short against the Vikings on Monday, falling 14-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Aggies have suffered since March 11th.
Kara Wine made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Northview, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Baker on Thursday as they made off with a 12-0 victory. Considering the Chiefs have won ten games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Jamison Gilman was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Gilman was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Northview got a massive performance out of Avery Stuckey, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kylee Langham, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Northview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Baker only posted a batting average of .062.
Northview has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Tate, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.
Tate couldn't quite get it done against Northview in their previous matchup back in February as they fell 6-1. Can the Aggies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
