Cardozo has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Monday. They will challenge the Bayside Commodores at 4:30 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Wednesday, Cardozo was fully in charge, breezing past Campus Magnet 48-19 at home.
Cardozo can attribute much of their success to Jeeanna Pierantoni, who scored 25 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Pierantoni has scored at least 25% of Cardozo's points. Another player making a difference was Meniia Weeks, who scored 10 points.
Meanwhile, Bayside had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 49-33 victory over Jamaica.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: Jamaica's victory pushed their record up to 1-0, while Cardozo's defeat dropped theirs down to 0-1.
Cardozo beat Bayside 48-39 in their previous matchup back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cardozo since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
