The matchup was McClain's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kayla Simmons, who scored four points along with 11 rebounds.
Scotland's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Varsity Opponent, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost 42 of their last 49 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 59-221-3 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scotland will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Union Pines at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Varsity Opponent won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Blythewood at 10:30 a.m. on December 23rd. Hopefully Blythewood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
