Ridge Point is a perfect 9-0 against Fort Bend Clements since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Ridge Point's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
Ridge Point's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Fort Bend Dulles 77-0. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won nine in a row.
Brody Bartee and Aiden Akins were among the main playmakers for Ridge Point as the former threw for 135 yards and three TDs on only ten passes and the latter rushed for 79 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. Another big playmaker for the Panthers was Bailen George, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Ridge Point proved: they limited Fort Bend Dulles to a paltry -2.4 yards per carry. The team can thank Brayden Bonik for the heroic effort on defense: he. Ridge Point didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 13.2.
Ridge Point's defense didn't let Izeyah Diaz, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for six sacks. In that department, Khalen Taylor was the leader with two.
Meanwhile, Fort Bend Clements played a tough game last Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Fort Bend Hightower, falling 63-14. The Rangers haven't had much luck with the Hurricanes recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Ridge Point will have to contain George Jreissaty as he made an impact in Fort Bend Clements' last game. He rushed for 136 yards and one score, and also picked up 30 receiving yards. Jreissaty's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 136 rushing yards.
Fort Bend Clements' loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Ridge Point, their record is now 7-0.
Thursday's contest might be decided on the ground. Ridge Point has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 161.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Fort Bend Clements struggles in that department as they've been averaging 150.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Ridge Point against Fort Bend Clements in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 77-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
