This season hasn't been kind to the Centennial Eagles, who are still winless after their ninth game. They suffered a rough 36-14 loss at the hands of Lake Brantley on Friday. Centennial lost against Lake Brantley in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 47-24 score last time.
Although Centennial took the loss, they still got scores from Jermonty Kimbrough and Paul Burris LL.
Lake Brantley can attribute much of their success to Parker Perales, who rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also threw for 117 yards and a touchdown on only ten passes. Tavin Hebert was another key contributor, rushing for 117 yards on only 13 carries.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Centennial to a paltry 187 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Lake Brantley's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out 4.5 times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Aidan Haecker and his two sacks.
Centennial's loss was their sixth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-9. As for Lake Brantley, their win ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-9.
Centennial will face off against Port St. Lucie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Port St. Lucie has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 24. As for Lake Brantley, they will be playing at home against Winter Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Winter Park will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
