The Holland Patent Golden Knights scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They skirted past Whitesboro 63-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Holland Patent to victory, but perhaps none more so than Terralyn McLaughlin, who scored 23 points along with five steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which McLaughlin has scored at least a third of Holland Patent's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michaela Cushman, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.
Holland Patent's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-9. As for Whitesboro, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holland Patent will take on Adirondack at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for Whitesboro, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rome Free Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
